Social Bookmarking Sites Are Fading Down
Featured, Social Media — By bloggingshiksha on December 27, 2011 at 7:25 amTwo weeks ago Technorati revealed the statistics for the State of bloggers of year 2010-11. The report really took the attention towards the breakdown of traffic source. This statistics tells that most of the bloggers are using social media to get the traffic. The most commonly used social media sites are Twitter and Facebook and rest of the sites have been dwarfed down.

Few years ago a website owner’s dream was to get there site on the front page of StumbleUpon, Digg and Delicious. Now the case has been changed as Facebook and Twitter has become the only option for getting the traffic because most people prefer to those site.
As there are number of proves to show this drift. Few months ago Digg launched a new version, but the new version was not so appealing. The old and loyal users has dumped the claim and said that, the new version has changed the active of that site, which is getting too much trouble for them so the traffic is decreasing. Few year ago when you use to post a good story then you use to get more then 3,000 diggs, but now the situation is different as you get only 100 to 200 diggs.

If you remember about Delicious then this was the first and only social bookmarking site available. This site was made in early 2005, but as from the news of yahoo it’s been said that this site would be closed or they would sell it to some body else. Most of the website owners use to get a lot of traffic from this site, but not no other site owner see this one. Till now there is no news for StumbleUpon, but I think it’s going on the same was as Delicious.
Seeing to the statistics some question arises that is the social bookmarking sited going to fade away? The social bookmarking web site is mostly used to build a great links so we really need to see why this happen and people are always in the search of some thing new, better and different. So it is there task to make it better then other bookmarking site.
